Echo MKII Headless Bass

This Echo MK II may look familiar if you have already viewed the Echo MK II bass page. That’s because this bass previously had a headstock, but suffered an unfortunate accident with it’s new owner. So a couple of years later I decided to convert it to headless by building a custom Ebony headpiece and routing for a Nova bridge. As the headless look really suited the body shape I decided to include it in my model range for repeat builds. A happy accident (but it certainly didn’t feel it at the time it got broken!)

It features a single handwound pickup made by Armstrong Pickups at the Stingray sweet spot, which delivers all the growl you would expect for a Ray but with passive electronics. There is a also a (CTS) push pull pot fitted as to split the pickup for more tonal variety.

This bass features a 32" scale, which in my opinion offers all the benefits of a standard scale (34") with the added benefit of being a little more comfortable (for both reach and stretching). This slightly shorter scale combined with no head ensures the bass balances extremely well on the strap.

Please remember, any of our models can be specified with a different number of strings, scale length, frets, pickups or anything else for that matter! Also we offer the option for you to design your very own unique guitar or bass with your own body shape and specifications.
